Approval of the Settlement Agreement and Release with Plaintiff Karla Ceja (“Plaintiff”), Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. BC720614. (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council: 1. Approve the Settlement Agreement and Release with Plaintiff Karla Ceja (“Plaintiff”), which authorizes the City to make a total payment in the amount of $50,000 to the California Department of Health Care Services (“DHCS”) for Medi-Cal lien, with the remainder to Plaintiff and upon execution of the Settlement Agreement and Release; and 2. Authorize the Interim City Manager to execute the Settlement Agreement and other related documents.
Consideration of Resolution No. 2020-36 ratifying the City Manager’s proclamation of a local emergency declaration and Citywide Curfew in response to Civil Unrest in Los Angeles County. (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council read by title only, waive further reading and adopt Resolution 2020-36 titled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BELL RATIFYING THE CITY ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER AND DIRECTOR OF CIVIL DEFENSE AND DISASTER’S PROCLAMATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY AND ORDER IMPOSING A CURFEW
Amendment to the existing traffic signal maintenance contract with Econolite Systems (formerly known as AEGIS ITS, INC.) to increase the contract term by six months and increase the total maximum compensation from $524,875 to $559,875. (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council approve Amendment No. 5 to the Agreement, increasing the term by six (6) months and increasing the total maximum compensation from $524,875 to $559,875.
Appointments to the Community Services Commission and Planning Commission. (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that: 1. Councilmembers Arroyo and Gallardo, and Mayor Saleh each nominate a member to the Planning Commission; 2. Councilmember Arroyo, Vice Mayor Romero and Mayor Saleh each nominate a member to the Community Services Commission; and 3.
